Awards

Hart Trophy: Steve Stamkos
Art Ross Trophy: Steve Stamkos
Maurice Richard: Steve Stamkos
Vezina Trophy: Tuukka Rask
Norris Trophy: Drew Doughty
Calder Trophy: Tyler Seguin
Jack Adams: Guy Boucher

Ilya Kovalchuk may have chosen the Devils over the Kings this past summer but he will play the last game of the 2010-11 NHL season at the Staples Center and will wish he was playing for the home team as the Kings will hoist their first Stanley Cup beating the Devils in the Stanley Cup Finals.

In the Eastern Conference, the Tampa Bay Lightning will be back in the playoff mix dethroning the Capitals for the Southeast Division crown. Steve Stamkos will have a monster season and a hat-trick on the award front. The Bruins bounce back from they’re monumental playoff collapse to take the Northeast Division while the Devils win the President’s Trophy and Atlantic Division.

In the Western Conference the Red Wings, provided they have a healthy lineup for the majority of the season, will take the Western Conference regular season title and Central Division but lose out to the Devils for the President’s Trophy. The Kings seize the Pacific Division crown from the Sharks and the Canucks take the Northwest again.

In the playoffs, the Devils will beat the Bruins in the Eastern Conference finals and the Kings will beat the Canucks to set-up the Devils-Kings finals match-up that the Kings will win in six games. Keep an eye on the Blue Jackets though to make some noise out west and the Lightning to make the second round in the east.

As we pointed out above, you should expect a huge season from Steve Stamkos whom this scribe believes will win the Hart, Art Ross and Maurice Richard trophies. Tuukka Rask continues his brilliant play between the pipes for the Bruins and becomes the second Bruin in the last three seasons to grab the Vezina. If not signed to an extension by next July 1, Drew Doughty will be in for an even bigger payday after winning the Norris Trophy. Tyler Seguin will have the Bruins happy that the Oilers took Taylor Hall and Seguin fell to them at No.2 in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft as he will win the Calder Trophy and Guy Boucher in his first season as an NHL head coach will win the Jack Adams Trophy.
